Here is a piece of information my friend Daniel, who once lived in Germany, sent me. Felt I should post everything for maxium effect 😉 :

By the way, yemitekim information bayhonim for someone like me who meketatel germany’s media online, it is surely des yilal. Germany’s Top Model, which is presented by the well known model Heidi Klum of Germany, ended yeserday. The winner is an ethiopian-born girl, Sara Nuru. Have a look at her at this link:

http://ecadforum.com/blog/2009/05/21/germanys-top-model-sara-nur/

The Article, with a little help from google, reads:

SARA is the new top model!

It was so exciting! Three hours long fought the “Germany’s Next Top Model ‘finalists for the title. It was exhausting, it was exciting, it was a head-to-head racing! Finally, the jury of Heidi Klum, and Peyman Amin Rolf Schneider decided:

SARA is the new top model!

The 19-year-old could not believe it, immediately broke into tears.

And then: Warf they only look at moms arms …

Heidi after the show to its decision: “In Sara, we have a special sparkle in the eyes. She has a great figure, a great charisma – and is still nice! ”

And Sara overjoyed to BILD: “I can not grasp – I had so often during the show, the feeling is not to create.”

Sara Nuru is the winner – from over 21 000 candidates! About three months of hard work and competition are behind her. Now she has done it.

Your price: A title-shooting with the German “Cosmopolitan,” a new car and advertising contracts with C & A and the cosmetics company Maybelline Jade (together with a value of 200 000 euros). Moreover beckons an international career as a top model …

Hmmm.. I wonder what a feeling that “is not to create” like 🙂 . Indescribable? Unimaginable? Unearthly?!

Thank you, abesheet. Also, for Muluken’s songs. It’s good to see ethiopians accomplishing something other than athletcis.

………alekelin beka ye diaspora ethio chicks gura alaskemit lilen new. Be abesha kurat yihe techemirobet…woay way ale Gebremedn…

  • 3. Mazzi  |  May 26, 2009 at 9:23 pm

    LOL Girum!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂

    That was SO funny!!!

As a ‘Diaspora ethio chick’, I am here to assure you that things are not as bad as you are making them sound in the ‘gura’ department.

Now … had it been me, myself, and moi who won the high profile beauty ‘model’ competition (In Germany at that! KeneCHoch hulu yemiferachew sewoch … have not foriven them for WWII madness) with a hefty prize, a brand new car, and a potential lucrative international modeling contract/career, you are right! Gurrayen mann chillot!!!

So Sara gurrawan bitneza alferdibatim. YeteQerenew, yemin beswa mashenef mekurarat new? My poor ‘alien’ life has not changed an inch since she won, so no gura or kurat mesemat by this ‘Diaspora chick’ as you said.

See there is hope after all ;-).

Endew enzihihn “diaspora chicks” maan bastewaweqegn! Yemir! Not seeing more than a handful of “yeAger sewu” in the last 2 months, more importantly not being able to talk to them (they were eating, I was eating; they were trying to eavesdrop on our conversation, i was trying to eavesdrop on theirs), has taken it’s toll on me. I jump out of my seat every time i saw “Ethiopiawi yemimesil sewu”. Who would have thought “endet newu?” and “selam newu?” endih yinafiQalu bilo!

While you are at it, Girume, who is this Gebremedhin you are always referring to? What happened to him?

  • 5. Girum  |  May 28, 2009 at 9:56 am

..he he, Mazi I don’t really think your assurance will relieve us from ‘our fear’. Because the problem is we want to control the Gura department, and the ‘sara fact’ is a bit against that. Those of us who were saying ethio chicks are not as smart (and pretty) as the ferenjs has to reason out this. That is why some of the calls we are receiving sound like ‘Ayehen adel endi nen’ stuff. ‘ene Birtalu ena Werkitu eyedewelu enem busy hogne new enji…yemil single lekekubin eko’. Well am also Ethiopian, and proud of Sara. I wouldn’t deny she is a way pretty and sexy than the German chicks….Oouuuf wish she were mine. Loool mignot ayikelekelim mechem.
Abesheet, this Gebremedhin is a friend of ours (hopefully yours too) whom Kebebew Geda has introduced us.

I think the space tab is the villian here, Girum.

    Hey Endale,
    Welcome and atit’fa.

  • 9. Girum  |  May 28, 2009 at 9:46 pm

No way! it was really for a play. Abiye Yene konjo, Yikirta eshi. Ayilemedegnim!! you saw it the other way. I COULD never be a villain as compared to anyone in this blog. • 10. abesheet  |  May 28, 2009 at 10:55 pm

Lol. What are you talking about, Girume? I was saying Endale’s “alemeregagat” may have been caused by the fact that his space tab wasn’t working. Thus the phrase “space tab the villian”. Check it out with the spaces added:

Wow it is very amazing word lady. I be glad about you and enjoyable. Pls how can i find you!? Pls send me your personal mail. I miss you. I need you, love U 4 ever and I understand U feature.

    Have a wonderful day!

Now, if Endale would be so kind as to tell us who he is talking about, that paragraph would make more sense 🙂 . You got me?!

  • 11. Mazzi  |  May 29, 2009 at 1:08 am

    Ayiiii Girum ….

I was so with you eko until you done gone and said ““Those of us who were saying ethio chicks are not as smart (and pretty) as the ferenjs has to reason out this.”

EndE! Damn the ferenjis! EgNa “ethio chicks” (to use your phrase) minn anesenina kenesu? Erre yet abatachew!

See … now you are forcing me to join the likes of ‘Birtalu ena Werkitu’ in saying “Ya! Sara kicked some serious ferenji ass when she won that competition in their own terms AND on their own turf! And in Germany at that! Go ‘ethio chicks’!!”

Maybe it is statements like what you said above that make the ‘ethio chicks’ in your circle not look your direction. Aymeslihim? Just a thought….

Champion Sara eraswa yalkewin semta latidewililih qorT’alech. AmeleT’echih! 😉 No Sara to whispering in your ears some sweet nothings in German 😉

    Ayi…. Sayastewilu chekulo menager……. mogNinet 🙂

How about you enlighten us about what exactly is missing from most of the ‘ethio chicks’ as you said … ye-beauty gudayim bayhon. Lol about “Ye hone yihe ye complication minamin case” … please elaborate what you mean. I would be one to listen.

Quite funny when you said … “Ye hone kelteftef yalemalet neger ale adel” … so that is what we are missing from ‘ethio chicks’ huh… hmmm…

Damn right about women utilizing the “SAVE” function and remembering clearly all the silly things you guys say. We can’t help it. It is in our DNA. “DELETE” button?! Yemin delete function melmed? Ena endalkew bemitilut silly negeroch edilachihun eyabelashachihu, you totally miss the Saras of your world from right under your nose!

    Sistu:
After prolonged deliberation and critical scientific assessment , I’ve found out that it’s the following two lines that landed your comments in the junkmail:

having got that off my chest, i & # 39 ; m hitting DELETE on the neger. amne & # 39 ; aregawin! iyekenekenegn kemiker biye new

That is, atleast, how the word “i'm” without the space I applied, appears to the comment cop. Have added you to the “safe” list, which should allow you to leave comment any time you want. However, the system would still hold your comment for moderation when more than one punctuations are applied. It’s something they developed a few days ago .

    Hmm..
I have a weird feeling the “ethio-chicks” you guys are talking about are the ones that were brought here beDegu zemen, beDegag enatoch & abatoch. Those who can afford the luxury and the time to go out and give airs to themselves. The few I know who arrived through DV or marriage, etc, seem to have given up on life and become nurses; keeping to themselves “beGizem yaleGizem”, with “paying the bills” their existence’s foremost priority. So when i hear all this “ethio-chicks” talk I wonder where these select breeds of abesheets reside. Are they, born to a rich man by the beautiful broad he married, those chicks who gave our country-women a bad name (BeMelkachew mamar, BeEmnetachew tenKaranet, BeNiQetachew Gulbet?!) long before the four of us arrived?! Convincing the rest of the world, and especially our fellow Africans, that all Ethiopian women are beautiful, well-cultured and “tiBitegna”?! If so, I’m on Girum’s side: down with “ethio-chicks”. If not.. pray tell which class of abesheets they are (mihuran, temariwoch, serategnoch, sira fetoch?) and where they get the time to socialize at such length.
